- Today's objective will be to finish the Narrative Essay you started last week.
- Receive and study "Elements of an Essay Vocabulary". You will be tested on these vocabulary words Wednesday 3/9/2022.
- Narrative Essay: An essay that tells a story
- Thesis Statement: A short statement in one to two sentences at the end of the introductory paragraph that summarizes the main point of an essay.
- Rising Action: The section of an essay that leads toward its climax.
- Climax: The most exciting and important event of a story.
- Falling Action: The section of a story following the climax in which conflict decreases and the story moves toward its conclusion.
- Conclusion: The last paragraph of an essay summarizing its thesis and wrapping up the essay.
- Dialogue: The exact words your character is speaking. The words go between a beginning and ending quotation mark.
- (Example: "We should all write a narrative essay," said Bryce.)
- Adjective: Words used to describe a noun.
